Android Ice Cream Sandwich Update For Samsung Galaxy S2,Note and Tab

The eagerly awaited update to the latest version of Android for all Android 2.3 smartphones, namely Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be available in March according to Eldar Murtazin, ,the editor-in-chief analyst of mobile-review.com.

On 10 February Eldar Murtazin who has around 30k followers  on twitter and tweets quite often, said that the Ice Cream Sandwich update will be available for use on March 1. However, he also mentioned that it may come out later for some countries. The update would be available over the air or through the Samsung Kies software.

Samsung had already reported at the end of last year, that the Galaxy Note, the S2 and the Tab would definitely be getting the Android 4.0 update. They also reported that the Galaxy Note and S2 in particular were in for the update in the first quarter of 2012 and other devices would get the update later.

Murtazin tweeted again about the update later that day but this time it was about Samsung smartphones. He said that the Galaxy Note and other models would be getting their updates from March to May,depending on the geographical region.

HTC too posted a note on their Facebook page about the update release date and information about the devices which would be receiving the update.

Here is exactly what they said -
HTC has been working hard to get its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades ready, and we’re excited to announce that our first round of ICS upgrades will roll out by the end of March for the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Sensation XE, followed soon there after by the HTC Sensation XL.

In addition, we can confirm Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades will be coming later this year to the HTC Rezound, HTC Vivid, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S and HTC Desire HD. Stay tuned for more updates on Ice Cream Sandwich releases in the coming weeks.”
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was the first phone built on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is the only one which has the OS at the moment. Earlier the main reason people bought the phone was because of its OS. Now that other Samsung and HTC phones are getting the Ice Cream Sandwich update, people may prefer buying the Note, the S2 or other HTC products over the Nexus, because of the better specs and cheaper prices.

Now we don’t know whether how accurate Eldar Murtazin’s claims are, but there are high possibilities of the claims being true.We will just have to wait for March 1 to find out.
