Now 2011 was a great year for many things like operating systems for phones,games and also movies.We got the latest Android OS 2.3 and beyond and 4.0.We got the latest Apple OS – iOS 5 and also the latest windows phones.Here in this post I am going to share a list of the most popular phones or the best phones of 2011 which made our jaws drop.
Samsung Galaxy S II – Released in February 2011, this smartphone is still a very good option in the markets.The Galaxy S II has a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1 GB RAM and a Super AMOLED screen.It has a 8MP camera with which you can take high definition photos and full 1080p videos.Its battery can hold up for 9 hours(talktime) on 3G and 18.3 hours(talktime) on 2G.It comes with an internal memory of 16GB which can be upgraded to 32GB.This phone runs on Android 2.3 OS.
Motorola Droid RAZR – Released in November 2011.Droid RAZR is 7.1 mm in width making it the slimmest phone in the world.It has a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 1GB RAM.It has a 8MP Camera which can can shoot 1080p HD videos like the Galaxy S2 mentioned above.It has Gorilla Glass Display and runs on Android 2.3.5 OS.Battery Life is 12.5 hours(talktime).The battery life is a little poor but it is still a good phone.

HTC Sensation XL – Released in October 2011.It is actually a special edition of HTC Sensation with beats audio.Sensation XL has a 1.5 GHz processor with 768MB RAM.It runs on Android 2.3OS and has HTC Sense 3.5.The phone has a 8MP camera and a secondary camera with 1.2MP,the 8MP camera can shoot 720p videos.The battery life is11 hours 50 minutes (2G talktime) and 6 hours 50 minutes (3G talktime).
iPhone 4S – Released in October 2011.The iPhone 4S was one of the most awaited phones of the year.Many people expected the iPhone 5 to release but the 4S came instead and didn’t disappoint us. It has a dual-core Apple A5 processor,with 512MB RAM.The camera on the iPhone 4S is 8MP but it claims to shoot better images and videos because of the the extra lens and it is also wider because of the 2.4f aperture.It has a front camera of 0.3 MP for FaceTime.It runs on iOS 5.Other features like Siri and iCloud were also a hit.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus- Released in November 2011.Galaxy Nexus runs on a 1.2GHz dual core processor and has 1GB RAM.It has HD Super AMOLED PenTile display which is curved.The rear camera is 5MP and the front facing camera is 1.3MP,the rear camera can take 1080p HD videos.The main feature of this phone is that it is made for and runs on the latest Android OS 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich.It comes with either 16GB internal memory or 32GB.Battery Life is 5 hours 58 minutes(talktime).
Nokia Lumia 800- Released in November 2011.Nokia Lumia is the first phone in which Nokia moved on from Symbian and dawned the Windows OS.The Lumia 800 has a 1.4 GHz Scorpio processor with Adreno 205 GPU and a 512 MB RAM.The camera is 8MP and has a 2.2f lens which is .2f less than the iPhone 4S.It has a AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixels and 16M colors.The battery life is 13 hrs(2G talktime) , 9 hrs 30 mins(3G talktime).The design is very similar to the Nokia N9.
Samsung Galaxy Note – Released in October 2011.Actually we don’t know what we should call it, a phone or a tablet because its too big for a phone and a too small for a tablet.Anyway,the Galaxy Note has a dual core 1.4GHz processor with 1GB RAM.The phone has a 8MP Camera with 1080p HD video recording and a secondary camera of 2MP for video chat.The Note runs on Android OS 2.3.5 and has an amazing battery life which runs for 26 h 10 min (2G talktime) and 13 h 30 min (3G talktime).It also a an S Pen which is very useful and fun to play with, the name Note must be probably because of this.
HTC EVO 3D – Released in June 2011.EVO 3D has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM.It has a 5MP camera which can shoot HD and 3D photos,it also has a 1.3MP front facing camera for video chatting.It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.It has an internal memory of 8GB but can be extended to 32GB.Evo 3D also has a gorilla glass display and a battery life of 8 hours(talktime) with 3D and 14hours(talktime) without using 3D.
