Nokia’s new Smartphone Lumia 800 is the latest edition to the Nokia team.Nokia came together with Microsoft for the making of Lumia 800 as you can see the phone has the latest Windows Mobile OS which is version 7.5 or Mango. The design of this phone is quite similar to the Nokia N9 as you can see the the photo below. It has many good features which may attract many people but as all good things have a bad side, this phone has one too.
Windows OS was a good decision by Nokia and the Lumia 800 does a fine job with it.This mobile will be quite publicizing for Windows mobile OS but it will still take some time(if it ever does) to dominate Android and Apple.Even the app store is growing rapidly as it went from 18,000 apps to having to 30,000 apps in just a few days but it still doesn’t compete with Android which has 250,000 apps or Apple with more than 500,000 apps. You can also use Microsoft apps like Word,Powerpoint and Excel which is very useful to many. This OS also brings all the messaging and chatting in one place, you can chat and text in the same place without shifting apps. The browser used is of course Internet Explorer with the Bing as the main search engine, and all those who own an Xbox you can customize your avatar and more with the Xbox Live integration.
Lumia 800 has an 8MP camera which is the same as the iPhone 4S but it is not quite as good when the photos come out.The Lens is a f 2.2 Carl Zeiss Lens, which is worse than 4S which has a f 2.4 lens.It also has other features like dual LED flash and auto-focus but the main party poooper like it is in the Galaxy Nexus too is the absence of the secondary camera so there is no video chatting possible which takes away one of the advantages of a 3G network.
It is loaded with the 1.4 GHz Scorpio processor with Adreno 205 GPU(like in Nexus One and HTC Evo) ,Qualcomm MSM 8255, Snapdragon Chipset and 3D graphics Accelerator. It has a AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixels and 16M colors. The size of screen is 3.7 inches which is quite small, the reason for it to be small are the new integrated Windows buttons.Other than that it has a 16GB storage space and 512MB RAM which is also a downer because there is no MicroSD to increase the storage and it has only 512MB RAM when the N9 had 1GB but it has 25GB storage on Skydrive to store media files. It also doesn’t have flash support.
It’s battery life is also good as compared to other leading smartphones today.The battery is Li-lon 1450 mAh which on standby lasts for 265 hrs(2G) , 335(3G) and talk-time is 13 hrs(2G) , 9 hrs 30 mins(3G).

It has a good interface with a dynamic view and is some-what smarter(in looks)than Android OS and iOS.Many people may prefer this because of its interface.Although the screen resolution isn’t very good.
Here are some new apps and features in the Lumia 800 -
1.The Nokia Drive app is an advanced GPRS system which can navigate you from one point to another.
2.Nokia Music is a place where you can play and download all the latest music.
3.The people hub gets the contacts and also feed from social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and puts it together so that you don’t have keep changing apps.
4.You can attach your favorite things like photos, apps and other things to your homepage like a pin board.
Overall Lumia 800 is a great phone with a stylish design and interface and it also wears Windows OS really well.Even though the camera isn’t as good as expected the other great features cover up the gaps.
